VBS Week

The week after Father's day happened to be VBS week this year, and every VBS week we always stay at Mom's house. That is because it is a lot closer and Sophie and I help out. I often don't get to see her much though because by the time I get back from work, it is dinner time then at 6:00 we had to go in for VBS. It didn't end 'til 8:30 so needless to say I was usually pretty tired by the end of the day. Plus this week I got to play Jesus. It was pretty dramatic, one day I even had the audience in tears with my performance. Well Peach was in tears. The theme of the week was Jerusalem and it was for the period when Jesus went to for passover and they crucified him. Well we did the last supper one night, and then when Jesus was betrayed the next night. Well the second night I was Jesus praying in the garden and when the Judas came the guards took me and put me into the Jail they had set up. Well Peach was very upset that Daddy was put in jail. She thought it was for real, and she was crying and screaming. I guess I was just too good, and some people couldn't tell the difference. Just Kidding. Anyway I also got to do recreation, which wasn't too bad. The only bad night was the one that it rained and we had to do stuff inside. Then on Thursday they brought in the inflatable obstacle course so that the kids could play and really have fun. Of course I was concerned that Peach would have a hard time what with her cast and all, so I went with her :). The second time I was just trying to keep her spot and when we got to the front the other kids behind us had matched up, so they wanted me to go against a little boy. Well I won't go into detail, but if you get a chance you should definitely ask Sophie what happened. All I'll say is that the kids weren't embarrassed, but Sophie was. Sorry honey, I thought it was funny myself, but like I said I'll try to spare her any further embarrassment. The last night they always do a slide show, but some of the pictures were too big to use so they had to print them out and scan them in. But the power went off when there was only about 30 minutes until show time. So they came and asked me if we could do something and we hurried up and put the pictures on a flash drive and did a slide show using the picture viewer. It actually worked out pretty well, I did that in about 7 minutes to get it ready, loading the pictures took a while because of the size, and then when it got to the end I hit space bar to pause it on the slide with title on it. I thought that was awesome because I thought the space bar was the right button to pause it but I was only about 60 % sure. Probably 62.8%. Yeah definitely a little higher than 60%. Anyway that worked and if you didn't know any better I don't think you could have told it was just kind of thrown together, but hey when you got Jesus on your side (the real Jesus in this case not me) nothing is impossible. So all in all VBS week was pretty good, and next year should be good too as the theme is like the secret early christian church where they met in caves and they are going to do the whole fellowship hall like a big cave, so it should be pretty good. Well see you there.
